Bone Grafts & Pre-prosthetic Surgery

Pre-prosthetic surgery encompasses a range of surgical procedures that can be used to modify areas of the mouth to allow better fitting prostheses and their improved long term prognosis.Regeneration of areas of missing bone and tissue is the most common aim of these procedures, particularly for the ideal placement of implants and to allow for a natural emergence profile.

Bone Grafts

This is the placement of bone particles from animal, human or synthetic sources, to augment or preserve existing areas of bone that are intended to be future implant sites.

Alveoloplasty

Certain regions of the mouth suffer from excessive or irregular bone growth and require reshaping to allow a better fitting surface for a prosthesis. An alveoloplasty reshapes an area to a positive architecture, allowing easier home cleaning and improved form fitting denture areas.
